Glavé & Holmes Architecture designed three buildings as part of a long-range plan for the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. The E. Claiborne Robings Visitor Center, the gateway to the campus, serves as a welcome center to orient, inform and provide support services to individuals and groups visiting the gardens. The structure houses ticketing facilities, meeting and orientation spaces, a garden information area, exhibit space, a gift shop, café and catering space.
The Education & Library Complex houses classroom and laboratory space, book and resource collections and a conference center. Designed in classic Georgian style to complement the Visitor Center, the Complex borders the westernside of the Central Garden.
The Conservatory, a classical domed glass building, is the centerpiece of the Gardens. The exhibition area of approximately 7,800 square feet is divided into three climate zones and houses exotic and unusual plants. A large covered terrace overlooking the lake and gardens below is used for entertaining.
