Located close to the city center, the new Property Registry in Canoas, Brazil, should, at the client's request, convey the idea of modernity and technology, premises that are not so common in this area of activity. Based on this request, the project sought the use of light materials, the fluid organization of spaces and workstations, in addition to diffuse and abundant lighting.
The project occupies one and a half floors of a new commercial building in the city. With the unification of nine rooms, it totals 475m². In order not to use the building's public enclosed staircase, it was necessary to create a new staircase connecting the two floors.
In the main public space (the service area), a modern layout was proposed, in accordance with the initial design sketches. Expanded sheet metal painted in white, backlit, was used in the ceiling.
The same metal sheet was used to recreate the building's central shaft, which had the walls removed, allowing more transparency and serving as support for the central flower box. Around it was design the parametric reception bench with capacity for 26 people, in tauari wood, a fundamental and connecting element of the project.
