The tile emerges and re-emerges throughout the history of Brazil, with a beautiful resilience to behold. In a world full of things that imitate others, it endures precisely because it is true to its essence: pure, simple, essential.
In 2018, Arquitetura Nacional created a collection presenting its interpretation of the hydraulic tile, such an iconic element of Brazilian aesthetic and cultural tradition. Now, joining forces with Dalle Piagge, the studio revisits the lines by introducing new tones that further reinforce the concepts behind both the practice and the collection: a strong connection to Brazil and its colors.
Arquitetura Nacional’s tile collection was conceived to address three distinct project moments. Each line is unique and expressive in its own way. The collection’s colors are bold, contrasting with the softness of icy white. Background and figure. Figure and background.
The Giraffe Line features a highly striking geometric language; its straight lines play with the viewer’s perception, creating outstanding compositions for all types of spaces. The Boa Line carries the fluidity of something that moves softly yet powerfully, almost unnoticed. With a broader pattern, it creates large-scale panels and compositions. The Crocodile Line is the boldest of the three, featuring strong and stunning icons. It works beautifully in small spaces, both on floors and walls.
Since its launch in 2018, the collection has been widely used through its great variety of layouts and color combinations.
