Black and Blue is a high end men’s clothing shop located in “The Lab” anti-mall shopping complex in Costa Mesa, CA. The main point of the design is the floating steel “Panels” that are customized to hold either hanging or folded clothing. The Panels have been hand rusted using an accelerant oxidizer and then sealed to hold the rust pattern. The store is expansive yet cozy, with an intimate atmosphere that gives it the feel of a huge his-or-hers walk-in closet.
Other areas of design consisted of, 2" thick 10ft long floating purple heart wood shelves and a custom curved steel tube making up the changing rooms and hanging bars in one continuous member.
