We are designing a new cultural building in Garliava at 8 Vasario 16-osios St. – a space dedicated to culture, events, creativity, and community activities. The project, developed in collaboration with the Kaunas District Municipality and the Garliava Cultural Center, will complement the existing sports and wellness complex and become a new part of Garliava’s cultural infrastructure.
The architectural and engineering solutions for this project are being developed by a team of specialists at Aplan, who are pooling their experience and expertise to ensure that the various aspects of the project are integrated into a cohesive, functional, and durable facility. Our colleagues’ expert knowledge allows for a comprehensive assessment of the building’s architecture, functionality, pedestrian flow, structural and engineering solutions, and how they interact with one another.
The three-story building will feature a multifunctional event hall, rehearsal and dance spaces, as well as administrative and support facilities. In our design, we place special emphasis on the comfortable movement of visitors and staff, accessibility, and the seamless integration of the new building with the existing complex.
Our team evaluates solutions not only from the perspective of today’s needs – we aim for the building to be efficient, sustainable, and valuable in the long term. The project is designed to achieve an A++ energy efficiency rating, and at least 50 percent of the materials used in construction will come from renewable sources.
This project reflects our approach to architecture – expert knowledge, the synergy of competencies across different fields, and accountability for the outcome allow us to create structures that are not only functional today but also generate long-term value for people and the city.
