Nestled along the coastal edge of Yas Island, Yas Beach is a 1,200-meter beachfront development that harmonizes luxury leisure with the surrounding indigenous mangrove forests. Designed as a serene counterpoint to the island’s bustling entertainment hubs, the project seamlessly integrates private chalets, diverse dining pavilions, and active sports zones into the natural topography of the Arabian Gulf.
Context and Concept
Located on the beautiful shores of Abu Dhabi, Yas Beach was designed as a quiet escape from the busy attractions of Yas Island. The project smoothly connects the built environment with untouched nature, using the nearby mangrove forests as a natural, green background. The main goal was to create a peaceful retreat from the fast-paced city, offering a relaxing getaway that respects the beauty of the coast.
Spatial Programming and Flow
The master plan is organized to accommodate a diverse range of user experiences, transitioning smoothly from high-energy public zones to secluded, luxurious enclaves.
• The Leisure Deck: Anchoring the site is a central infinity pool that visually merges with the Arabian Gulf, surrounded by plush lounging areas and integrated sun shading.
• Dining Pavilions: The culinary spaces are designed to offer distinct atmospheric experiences. This includes a main indoor restaurant, an open-air dining terrace, an outdoor bar, and a dedicated artisanal Italian pizza pavilion, all strategically oriented to maximize sunset views.
• Private Chalets: For elevated privacy, 16 standalone chalets are positioned along the shoreline. These structures provide intimate, shaded retreats while maintaining a direct visual and physical connection to the crystal-clear waters.
• Active Recreation Zones: The perimeter of the site is activated by modern sports infrastructure, including padel tennis courts, beach volleyball areas, and a dedicated watersports hub for kayaking and paddleboarding through the mangroves.
Environmental Integration
Yas Beach is designed with a strong focus on the environment and safety, proudly holding the international Blue Flag certification. The design uses natural textures and calm colors so that the white sands and bright blue waters stand out. By including local plants and carefully protecting the mangrove forests, the project remains a green, eco-friendly coastal retreat.
