Light shapes performance.
The façade as a climatic filter.
Portugal’s largest Passivhaus office.
A high-performance office building shaped by light.
The headquarters of Caixa Geral de Depósitos is an office building structured on a 1.35 m grid, extended by an plinth combining commercial spaces and a publicly accessible park that rises from the ground and covers the base of the site.
The façade is generated through parametric design: vertical fins are calibrated to block infrared radiation, reduce overheating, and maximize daylight autonomy.
This creates a vibrating architectural rhythm while ensuring high environmental performance.
As the largest Passivhaus office building in Portugal, the project demonstrates that climate control can define architectural identity.
Not a static façade—
but a dynamic climatic interface.
