The expansion of Tecon Rio Grande's headquarters is the reason for this project, which provides new manners of personal interaction at the workplace through integrated and open spaces.

The layout is arranged in two areas: one single workspace - open with unrestricted circulation; and meeting rooms - configured into one continuous central glass volume. The architectural proposal intends to create visual connection and spatial hierarchy in a way that transparency and privacy may coexist. To achieve this, the glass box that configures the meeting rooms received different ceiling and floor finishings from those used in the other spaces. Service areas such as reception, kitchen and toilets were kept in their original shape.

The clear central volume is strategically located in order to organize privacy levels for visitor's and employee's circulation. Acoustic control in the meeting rooms is solved with double glazing isolation and the usage of sound absorbing materials, such as wooden parquet flooring - replicated onto the ceiling with the same stereotomy. Electrical and air conditioning infrastructures are organized next to existing pillars inside two tall cabinets, that also serve as space dividers and storage. The extensive detailing of the metallic structure that holds both ceiling and glazing panels emphasizes the small number of elements and enables a neutral and continuous glass volume reading.

The worksplace has no physical divisions and office desks are structured in a low linear arrangement. This arrangement establishes a continuous storage space for network and electrical infrastructure, that goes across the ceiling and gets to it's target in the furniture by two vertical points.

Furniture and structure assume multiple roles in this project, reducing the number of elements to minimal allowing a unique continuous workspace for discussion and networking.
