At the heart of Diriyah’s captivating landscape, the Five-Star Hotel introduces a timeless hospitality experience rooted in nature, heritage, and refined luxury. Set against the dramatic presence of the wadi, the resort is envisioned as an architectural retreat where contemporary elegance meets the enduring spirit of Najdi design.
The project is guided by the relationship between resort and wadi. Rather than treating the landscape as a backdrop, the design places the wadi at the center of the guest experience, shaping the resort’s planning, movement, views, and spatial atmosphere. Courtyards, terraces, framed openings, and layered pathways create a continuous interaction with nature, allowing guests to experience changing scenery, pristine views, and moments of calm throughout their journey.
Inspired by the massivity, material depth, and architectural language of traditional Najdi architecture, the resort reinterprets heritage through a contemporary lens. Additive and subtractive forms, textured surfaces, shaded passages, and a nuanced palette of earthy tones create a sense of permanence and belonging. The architecture feels rooted in place, echoing the surrounding terrain while offering a sophisticated expression of modern five-star hospitality.
The resort is conceived as an oasis of relaxation and luxury, seamlessly merging with the natural allure of the wadi. Its spaces are arranged to encourage discovery, privacy, and connection, moving between intimate courtyards, open terraces, hospitality lounges, wellness areas, and landscape-integrated destinations. The wadi extends into the roofscape and landscape strategy, becoming not only a visual anchor but a defining element of the resort’s identity.
The design narrative brings together cultural legacy, natural beauty, and future-facing hospitality.
