Rayus Radiology was looking to expand their market presence with a more streamlined design they could replicate into new markets. They were searching for a design-build partner that could keep up with the time constraints, communicate well with the team and support their process with 3D visuals and enhanced BIM coordination.
Thielen & Green provided full scope architectural and MEP design services from design development through construction administration. Fit planning, schematic design and interior design were provided by Rayus Radiology, coordinated during the shell design under a deferred submittal. Programming includes a formal entry with three check-in stations and expanded waiting room, ultrasound, mammography, CT, X-Ray, C-Arm, MRI, 4 changing rooms, two rad offices, prep, storage, break room and clinical offices with staff support spaces and clinical amenities. The MRI suite includes a full interior slab isolation, perimeter RF Shielding and non-ferrous construction. The interior design follows Rayus’ brand standards with warmer wood tones, vinyl wall covering and higher ceilings, but with a local Sartell flavor. Large perimeter windows flood the clinic with natural light, but remain controlled in imaging suites, rad offices and areas were lighting is key.
This project was delivered under an integrated approach with Strack Construction as the general contractor. MEP design was provided by Emanuelson-Podas and site selection by Transwestern and Strack Construction. Construction is expected to wrap in early 2026.
This project utilized full BIM modeling for early design review, project coordination and clash detection, with a goal to limit field changes and expedite construction timelines.
