PENN 1 is the transformative centerpiece of a reimagined neighborhood, and a re-energized New York City.
The transformation of the PENN 1 office tower is redefining the experience of working in the PENN District. From architectural design down to branded touchpoints, this project by A+I showcases how the office building of the future can meaningfully engage, inspire, and support diverse ways of working - and build community.
As part of a broader strategy for Vornado Realty Trust, A+I repositioned PENN 1 as a new hospitality-forward ecosystem of amenities called WorkLife at Vornado.
WorkLife is a dynamic and thoughtfully curated experience, and is fast becoming a destination of choice for building tenants and the general public, who are warmly welcomed in.
Unfolding over three floors, lounges, communal workspaces, and an elevated library, all designed with flexible work in mind, are peppered throughout an amenities experience that delivers WorkLife Wellbeing - a 35,000 SF fitness and wellness center operated by Exos, WorkLife Meetings - a 20,000 SF conferencing facility, WorkLife Flex Office - over 80,000 SF of adaptable workspace operated by Industrious.
Rounding out the experience, A+I designed a full-service restaurant and bar (The Landing) and a gourmet grab and go offering (Office Hours), operated by the award-winning hospitality group DMK. Warm and inviting, these food & beverage integrations are true multi-functional connectors for tenants, guests, and restaurant patrons.
A grand social stair connects the WorkLife spaces both visually and functionally. Collaborative and flexible bleacher seating situated across from an integrated LED wall create the perfect location for people to connect - whether a casual meeting, or an industry event.
While the upgrades to the exterior facade create an approachable welcome, the distinctive color-changing light in the building crown illuminates PENN 1’s place in the everchanging skyline.
