For an organization whose office environment is just as critical as the work being done, PATH, a Seattle-based global health organization, partnered with SkB Architects to design a new office space and assist with guiding staff through this significant change. Key drivers for PATH, as they relocated from a historic neighborhood space to a new office building near the downtown core, included weaving employee culture into the design and emphasizing total collaboration.
The organization?s deeply-rooted history in its previous space, as well as employees? emotional connection to it, posed a challenge for the project team. But through PATH?s vision and SkB?s expertise in work-environment design, the PATH office took shape as an inviting, innovative space that richly fosters the organization?s culture and mission. The new space features hot/warm color palettes, varied textures, native woods and irregular patina. The more than 400 pieces of artwork collected by staff from around the world, photographs, third-world crafts and unique antique furniture reflect the global community that PATH?s pioneering work supports.
