The project significantly expands the original house, overcoming its spatial limitations while creating a seamless connection between the social areas and the rear courtyard, a relationship that did not previously exist. While the front façade was largely preserved, the rear façade was completely redesigned. The project's guiding alignments define both the new additions and the placement of the detached annex, organizing circulation, connections, and sightlines to unify the composition and strengthen the relationship between architecture, interiors, and landscape.
The interior design celebrates natural materials and Brazilian design through a contemporary vernacular approach, featuring solid brick, wood, exposed concrete, and natural stone as defining elements. A carefully curated selection of iconic Brazilian furniture and decorative objects reinforces the home's timeless and authentic character, while the material palette—drawing inspiration from both Brazilian vernacular and modern architecture—emphasizes material honesty, structural clarity, and the creation of warm, enduring, and sensory-rich spaces.
