The Café Musa Velutina transforms a century-old house adjacent to the Remanso Cultural Institute into a vibrant space where architecture, culture, and everyday life converge. Guided by the concept of anthropophagic Brazilianness, the project reinterprets tradition through a contemporary lens, celebrating Brazilian identity with natural materials, earthy tones, and handcrafted textures. While preserving the building's historic character, the renovation introduces a new architectural language that establishes a seamless connection with the neighboring cultural institute through a shared courtyard, reinforcing a sense of community and collective experience.

Traditional construction techniques are reimagined through contemporary design, with features such as the rammed-earth counter and the organically pigmented courtyard floor expressing the project's tactile and material richness. The spatial sequence unfolds as a series of discoveries, leading visitors from the narrow street façade to the rear courtyard, with the green hall and its serpentine table serving as the symbolic heart of the café. Blending vernacular craftsmanship with contemporary architecture, Café Musa Velutina creates an immersive environment where memory, culture, and social interaction come together in a distinctly Brazilian experience.
