A house connected to the environment
The site is a residential subdivision in a corner of the area where old Japanese houses have stood for many years.
There is a 2.5 m difference in height between the road and the site, and the site has a good amount of nature.
Due to the difference in elevation from the road, it was necessary to plan a building that would not be overbearing to its surroundings. Therefore, a garage was built at street level and designed to blend in with the nature as much as possible by integrating the design and roof shape with the building.
From the garage to the entrance, a staircase made of natural stone was designed to blend in with the natural surroundings, allowing the approach to the building to be made on a site with a difference in elevation without any sense of discomfort.
From the entrance, a path leads to the rear garden, where a pleasant pathway leads from the garage to the rear garden.

There are few openings on the street side, and the dining and living space leads to an open space to the backyard as you enter the interior.
The side of the site is a village road, which is also a living road, so the project is designed to protect privacy, while at the same time allowing light to enter the house.

From the space on the second floor, there is a space where the mountains and cherry blossoms can be seen, and this space is used as a free space for the family.
By creating comfortable places to stay in key locations and connecting them to the external environment, the house creates a pleasant space where people can feel the outside wherever they are.
