O+ is family-run business that started its humble roots with a small store in the heartlands. O+ is also one of the first local-grown single label stores that manufactures its own frames.
With O+, the idea was to create a store design that could reflect their legacy and to set them apart from mass brands. We wanted to design a space to tell a story about the frames—the production process, the history of the business.
The concept of “framing” guides the store design though and through, enabling the creation of various retail experiences of focal points. Instead of keeping the space open, we created sections with felt-lined walls framed by lithe timber strips. Mirrors have also been designed as framing partitions, allowing customers to inspect their product choices in a subtle manner.
Keeping in mind the many models available, modular timber and white metal shelves allow flexibility in terms of visual merchandise, meaning a more controlled stock list.
We wanted to make sure the raw materials used reflected the timelessness, attention to craft and artisanal approach of the brand. Materials like the glowing brown and yellow patterns of acetate provide unexpected yet delightful accent while accents like brass and marble further add a touch of sophistication.
