To create a branded environment where its audio innovation could be brought to life, custom headphone company Normal looked to emerging New York architecture firm HWKN.
HWKN’s design concept combines a factory with a retail store. The 11,000- square-foot space showcases the unique manufacturing process that employs 3D printers, raw materials, and assembly, all within a turn-of-the-century industrial building.
The result is an energized, contemporary retail space in both presentation and production. By allowing customers to engage in each step of the manufacturing process, HWKN has created an exciting retail experience based on the essence of Normal’s brand – changing the rules (and future) of American manufacturing.
