This project is dedicated to the preservation and advancement of China's intangible cultural heritage, creating a bespoke museum for Xinjiang that integrates collection, exhibition, inheritance, experience, research, education, and public services into a unified whole.
The design concept draws inspiration from ancient Chinese philosophies of the "round sky and square earth" and the "unity of heaven and humanity." Rooted in Xinjiang's rich intangible cultural heritage, it takes the intimate fabric of folk settlements and the grandeur of the region's mountainous landscapes as its departure point, shaping an architectural form and spatial environment that encapsulates the essence of folk art.
The main structure employs a centrally symmetrical layout, with a crown-shaped central lobby—"The Crown of Intangible Heritage"—serving as the pivotal space that connects the north and south wings.
The interior design is guided by the theme "Chinese Civilization, One Continuous Line," aiming to carry forward the profound cultural spirit of Chinese civilization.
The building employs off-white stone and bronze-colored metal aluminum panels, achieving an overall aesthetic of timeless elegance.
For energy-efficient design, the project innovatively implements the TSS Thermal Shell Air Environment Control System, serving as a pilot demonstration for new low-energy green building technologies.
