Mount Alexander College is a secondary school in Melbourne, Australia, responding to a unique pedagogical model and highly student led curriculum. Mount Alexander College delivers a wide range of indoor and outdoor learning environments, enhanced connectivity between classrooms, allowing teachers and students to customise their learning spaces. The building includes resources catering to the arts, performance, digital systems and technology, sciences, administration, and general classroom learning. The adaptable floor plates are free from load bearing walls, enabling the architecture to be recast in the future. The conceptual framework encompasses context and scale, engagement and connectivity, and connection to nature. The project was developed in close consultation with the school community, continuing to be consulted at all stages of the design
