Lost Boyz Studios – Santa Teresa, Costa Rica
Set within Los Boys Hostel, just a five-minute walk from the break in Playa Santa Teresa, these studios reinterpret the hostel experience through a more private, laid-back lens.
Conceived as a hybrid between compact villas and refined studios, the project embraces a raw tropical language—exposed concrete, warm woods, and a palette of earthy, sun-faded tones that settle naturally into the landscape.
Finishes are intentionally simple and honest. Handcrafted tiles and mosaic surfaces bring texture and rhythm to the interiors, balancing durability with a tactile, almost improvised quality. Materials are chosen not for luxury, but for resilience and ease of use—built to age, to weather, and to be lived in without friction.
The architecture remains grounded and efficient, prioritizing cross ventilation, sliding openings, and a seamless dialogue between interior and garden. Spaces are compact yet generous in feeling, where proportion, light, and materiality define the experience. The result is a quiet, surf-driven retreat—raw, practical, and deeply in tune with the slow, coastal rhythm of Santa Teresa.
