Linden Nursery
Suburban nursery for Dowtown kids
Budaörs is a suburb of the Hungarian capital, Budapest. After the decomposition of the communist regime, in the early 90’s the quiet village has started to develop. In the past twenty, twenty five years more than 100000 m2 offices and commercial facilities were built. This growth was followed by the development of the infrastructure and also new residential buildings, schools, swimming pools, sport facilities were installed.
We designed our nursery for the kids of the young downtown generation, who moved here. Kindergarten is obligatory for kids between the age 3-6 in Hungary. In the old communist regime nationalized old villas were used as kindergartens. The spaces of these nurseries are poorly dimensioned (too small or too big), dark and colourless. Our design breaks this wrong tradition. We designed a new, modern building which is suitable for the needs of the new generation.
Beside the six nursery rooms there are great community spaces, related inner gardens, small intimate spaces with a variable hilly formation. An other goal was to keep the natural green enviroment, and integrate it to the XXI. century building. The nursery with its neughboors- the office and the school- will be the center of the sports, learning and freetime by the middle of the 2010’s.
