The more than 1,000-square-metre plot on which we designed the "Light House," is located in a well-ordered enclave of single-family houses in the vicinity of Radomierzyce, near Wrocław. The magnificent mature tree stand gives the place a unique character, and the newly built houses shape the architectural quality of the estate, which has a modern character. The developer had a clear objective: to create a modern house that makes use of and blends in with the surrounding wooded landscape.
The design of the building is inscribed in the regularly square geometry of the plot. The body of the house is a two-storey layout, and the entrance has been placed centrally in the body of the building. The floor plan will not coincide with that of the ground floor, allowing for the creation of functional terraces. On the mezzanine floor, suspended above the living area on the ground floor, we will find a large master bedroom with adjoining bathroom, sauna and dressing room, which opens onto a beautiful view of the garden through glazed walls. In addition, there are two additional bedrooms in the upstairs wing.
The body of the building is uniquely shaped by the flat roofs, particularly at the front. These roofs give the building a dynamic appearance, which is clearly visible from the front elevation. However, when one crosses the threshold and enters the cubist, solid building, the building opens up entirely to the west towards the garden, creating the space of a private enclave. The building's façade, structured with a drapery of white concrete panels, is relieved and given lightness, resembling a delicate curtain.
