A non-typical single-storey house with a dynamic flat roof in the neighbourhood of a typical provincial development, in a chaotic landscape, is a conscious response of the investors and an idea for shaping space, aesthetics and patterns in an era of dynamic change with eco-consciousness.
The project of an ultramodern house with a flat roof, 270m2 in size, for a family that values proximity to nature, privacy and open space away from the hustle and bustle of Wrocław, was designed by architects from the JABRAARCHITECTS studio.
Plot and surroundings
The plot on which the house was designed is located on the outskirts of a suburban village in the Opolskie Voivodeship, whose urban fabric creates chaos in the landscape of the village. The immediate surroundings of the plot are mostly new houses with a variety of architecture that does not correspond to the architecture of typical rural buildings.
The plot of over 1,500 m2, with its very good proportions, did not pose any design constraints in terms of the building's form and positioning, which made it possible to design a block with a generous ground plan that fit easily into the geometry of the plot.
Architecture
H-house is a project of an ultra-modern single-storey house maintained in a modern, dynamic form with an emanation of unobtrusive luxury. The building contrasts, as it were, with the chaotic development of its surroundings, so that a high hedge fence provides the perfect backdrop and emphasises the character of the designed building.
The representative entrance area is emphasised by a wide driveway, and the garage entrance, hidden in the side wall, made it possible to present the horizontal body of the building from the front in a striking manner.
The building is characterised by a simple, minimalist form. The external façades on the neighbours' side are designed as monolithic walls without windows, as the designer's main idea was to open up the building with panoramic glazing to an internal patio with a bonsai-style garden and an exposed recreational area of the plot. It was designed in such a way that its use provides the residents with complete privacy.
The façade has been designed with durable and timeless materials in tones of beige and sand.
Function
The function has been solved in the massing of the single-storey building layout. The layout of the individual rooms is based on the main communication directions east-west and north-south, with a clear separation of the living zones - day and night. In the central part of the house, the architects envisaged the living zone, which opens up onto an internal patio through panoramic glazing from the kitchen, dining room and living room. A study, bathroom, laundry room with drying room, dressing room, pantry and boiler room are also provided on the north-south axis. The sleeping areas for the parents and children have been designed in two separate wings of the building, thus ensuring intimacy and peace. The wing for the parents provides
The designer wanted their building to provide complete privacy for its occupants. The east-west and north-south corridors of the building separate the living areas - day and night - for clarity of layout. The central part of the house comprises the communal area of the living room, dining room and semi-open kitchen. Each wing of the house has separate bedrooms for parents and children with panoramic views of the internal patio. This separation provides users with the comfort of private spaces. The house uses the latest technology in heating and heat recovery. It is designed to an energy-efficient standard, which enables operating costs to be minimised while maintaining. Users can also enjoy the comfort of a space where they can breathe crystal-clear air, cleansed of dust and biological pollen as well as smog and nanoparticles, harmful benzopyrenes, a troublesome component of suburban air. This is made possible by an appropriately configured home ventilation system with equipment and design solutions.
