1. General information
Type of project: Family house
Location: New urban area
Scale: 1 ground floor, 2 floors
2. Design idea
The main idea of the project comes from the desire to create a modern yet soft and emotional living space. Instead of using traditional square blocks, the architect was inspired by the image of leaves to create an architectural block that is both flexible and brings a feeling of closeness and friendliness to nature and people. The curves are delicately processed, creating a flexible visual rhythm for the facade, while helping the project stand out in the overall neighborhood.
3. Block and facade solution
The facade is a combination of white blocks combined with soft cut curves, creating a layout that is both strong and graceful. The solid and hollow panels are reasonably balanced, helping the building receive maximum natural light while still ensuring privacy. The concrete wind flower system in the front acts as a "light filter", creating a gentle pattern effect during the day and reflecting warm light at night.
4. Spatial and functional solutions
The interior space is organized openly, vertically connected, fully exploiting natural light and ventilation. Ground floor: Common living area, expanding the view to the front yard with a green buffer layer. Upper floor: Resting space, arranged with balconies and large curved windows, creating an open view and connecting with nature. Skylights and green spaces help keep the indoor space airy, reduce heat radiation and bring a feeling of relaxation.
5. Materials and lighting
Main materials: White painted walls, aluminum framed tempered glass, ventilation bricks, exposed concrete and natural green areas.
Lighting: Warm yellow tones are chosen to highlight the shape at night, turning the building into a “light sculpture” that stands out in the middle of the street.
6. Aesthetic value and design philosophy
The building is a fusion of emotion and reason, geometry and nature. The curves are not only a formative element, but also a language expressing the spirit of contemporary Vietnamese architecture – soft, flexible, yet still solid and modern.
The first floor is organized around the central lake (Fish Tank) - a space highlight that helps regulate the microclimate and creates a feeling of relaxation and closeness to nature. The functional spaces are arranged around the lake in an open, visually connected and naturally ventilated direction. The common living area includes the living room, kitchen and dining room, which are connected, facing the green garden, creating a cozy and light-filled living space. The bedroom for the elderly is arranged near the entrance, convenient for moving; the maid's room and the worship room are arranged reasonably, ensuring privacy and quiet. Two bathrooms are placed symmetrically on both sides of the stairs, convenient for use and natural ventilation. Behind is the inner courtyard combined with laundry, and also acts as an open space at the end of the house. The interspersed garden system and skylight help the building to always be bright and cool, bringing a pleasant feeling to the user. The main materials include wood, stone, glass and brick, expressing a minimalist, modern and sustainable spirit, in line with the philosophy of "living in harmony with nature".
The second floor is designed with the main function of a private resting and living space for family members. The center of the floor is a children's play area combined with a skylight, helping to get natural light and ventilation for the entire space. Surrounded by reasonably arranged bedrooms including a master bedroom with a private dressing room, two children's bedrooms and a guest bedroom, all facing the green gardens to take advantage of the view and light. The curved staircase is a soft highlight, creating a connection between the floors. The alternating garden areas and skylights bring a feeling of closeness to nature, helping the second floor to be both private and airy, expressing the spirit of modern architecture, promoting balance and relaxation in the living space.
The third floor is designed as a relaxing space and serves the family's secondary activities. The center of the floor is a skylight that provides natural light and ventilation for the entire house. In front is a spacious cinema room, connected to a large garden, providing a natural entertainment space. Behind is a laundry area and a neatly organized storage area, convenient for daily use. The alternating garden areas and light from the skylight help the third floor to always be airy and cool. The overall space continues the soft design language of the project, aiming for a balance between modern conveniences and a feeling of relaxation and nature.
