Project Description
H2 House is envisioned as a modern living space where architecture, nature, and people blend seamlessly into a unified whole. Located in Vinh Phuc – a region with a hot and humid tropical climate and long summers – the building is designed with an open concept, prioritizing natural ventilation, maximizing natural light, and increasing green spaces to create a healthy, energy-efficient, and nature-friendly living environment.
On a 420 m² plot of land, the building has a construction area of 260 m², organized around a central garden. This layout ensures that all functional spaces have views of nature, while creating a seamless connection between the interior and exterior. The courtyard acts as the "heart" of the house, bringing light, wind, and scenery into every living space.
The architectural language is contemporary, featuring clean, square shapes, minimalist lines, and balanced proportions. The large, expansive roof, combined with deep verandas, reduces solar radiation, creates shadows, and enhances the shielding of the interior spaces. Exposed brick walls retain their rustic charm, combined with light-colored painted concrete and large glass windows, creating a harmonious contrast between natural materials and modern architectural language.
One of the highlights of the building is the water feature running along the facade, incorporating a small waterfall and tropical landscaping. The water not only adds aesthetic value but also helps regulate the microclimate, reduce surface temperature, and create a relaxing atmosphere. Green spaces are strategically placed throughout, from the courtyards to the rooftop, creating multiple ecological layers that keep the building lush with greenery and improve air quality.
The interior spaces are designed with an open concept, minimizing rigid partitions to enhance connectivity between the living room, kitchen, and dining area. Large sliding glass doors allow the living space to fully extend to the garden, creating a feeling of almost no boundary between inside and outside. Each bedroom has direct access to the green landscape, receiving natural light and cross-ventilation, improving daily living quality.
Finishing materials are selected based on sustainability and longevity. Terracotta bricks provide a warm and inviting feel; exposed concrete showcases the raw beauty of the structure; large-format glass optimizes views; while the greenery acts as a soft "shell," balancing the microclimate and creating a unique identity for the building.
H2 House doesn't aim for ostentatious displays but focuses on the living experience. Every courtyard, pathway, water feature, and garden is carefully considered as part of the architecture, contributing to a tranquil, private living space that remains open to nature.
