This is a preschool which has both function of kindergarten and nursery. It has been required to build newly to meet neighbors' needs in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. It's necessary to put some elements which can tell the history and culture of this area into the design concept. Thus, we made a secure environment which has a good relationship with the local, using the local industry, Enshu fabric as the design concept, which has made this city develop for a long time. The environment where all with this preschool and neighbors watch over children, will be created. The design concept is Enshu fabric, which inspires any shape, color, and materials in this building. The exterior is from the image of weaving shop which has many weaving machines and the moment of weaving clothes. The color of exterior is ecru from the image of unbleached cloth. The play ground has a small mountain rich in nature as picking up clothes. In the nursery rooms and atelier, people can imagine as if they are in a weaving shop for its sloped roof. The floor level is so high that neighbors can see how children play inside. Watching over children by the whole local community makes the teacher relieve anxiety. And children can play and make any activities in such a secure environment. Moreover, we use ecru as the name and logo of this preschool for its purity. Original tote bag is also designed so that children can feel genuine and learn how to take good care of things.
