The Hanyang University International Education Center, an organization that teaches foreign languages to Hanyang University students, the general public, and foreign students, created a new space to provide a comfortable and efficient environment for students and instructors. The project was designed to accommodate various functions on each floor, and the space was planned for unity and practicality.
The 3rd floor is composed of office space, a conference room for meetings, and a service area where students can see administrative work. The 7th floor consists of a rest area for instructors and a room dedicated to education.
The team leader's office uses plywood to create a warm atmosphere, and magnetic M-board is used on some walls to facilitate work and meetings. In the office space, glass blocks are stacked low to create a sense of openness while separating some spaces from the rest area. A storage cabinet was built by the window to create a functional yet pleasant environment for organizing work materials.
The civil service space is a space where students can see administrative work, and the civil service desk is made of glass blocks and plywood. We wanted to create a warm atmosphere by starting from the civil service desk and continuing to the ceiling and walls. We planned a waiting area with sofas to make it comfortable while waiting for administrative work.
The conference room was designed with a large table and monitor to provide a comfortable environment for meetings. The director's office was planned with a simple storage space, a conference table, and storage space so that there is no inconvenience in conducting business. In addition, we used plywood to make the space unified with other spaces and create a comfortable atmosphere.
On the 7th floor, various tables and chairs were placed in the break area for instructors to rest, and the blue main color was used to emphasize the feeling of freedom. A low wooden bench that can be used as a sitting area was placed by the window to provide a variety of ways to relax. The functions were separated based on the resting space, and the computer space, which was previously located in the instructor's space, was placed in the back to separate rest and work.
The office space for the instructors is unified with white tones to help them focus on their work, and tables and chairs are arranged in white tones. One wall was decorated with white tiles and blue grout to give the rest area color and unity.
