This residence in Taichung was purchased by the clients’ children as a new home for their parents. Designed primarily for the couple’s everyday use, it also includes a bedroom and dedicated storage for their son when he returns to stay. The layout was shaped around the family’s routines, with circulation, sightlines and spatial relationships carefully coordinated to accommodate their different needs.
Dark timber establishes the home’s overall tone. From the entrance, the study, living room and dining-kitchen area unfold in sequence along the main circulation route. Doors finished in the same material connect the different zones, consolidating multiple openings into a continuous elevation and creating a calm, cohesive spatial character.
