The building responds and adapts to its climate, cooling and shading naturally through its urban design masterplanning and its unique form. Its growing facades replenish and transform, replicating the cycle of nature. The whole area is less enclosed and more environmentally aware than typical such developments, with contours and hills created on the flat land, and buildings which have been designed to evolve from this newly-formed landscape.
Enter Projects Asia worked with computer-generated weaving scripts that emulate the traditions of basket-making and Thai arts and crafts. The team also analyzed the organic geometries of weaving patterns in nature, combining them with sun directions and wind to shelter visitors and staff from the elements.
The architects have fused their technical innovation with materials that are sourced from nature. They include bamboo screens and marine plywoods, which are much more sustainable that conventional plywoods. Working with the tropical environment, our solution will serve as an example of innovation in contemporary, sustainable-aware design.
