SKYnoa is honored to be the designing studio of CIDER's debut offline store at LA Farmer's Market. The project translates the brand’s digital identity into a physical space that is equally dynamic, expressive, and socially driven. Conceived not as a conventional store but as a spatial extension of CIDER’s online universe, the design brings together community, content, and commerce into a continuous, immersive experience.
Responding to the relaxed, lifestyle-oriented context of Los Angeles, SKYnoa positions the store as a laid-back but highly visible shopping destination within the area. A bold CIDER signage anchors the corner presence, while the overall architectural approach draws inspiration from urban barn house and Archigram’s “Instant City”, with the store being modular, flexible, and capable of continuous transformation, rather than a fixed retail composition. The spatial sequence begins with an outdoor terrace that is covered in iconic CIDER red, it merges garden and café, creating a soft threshold between city and retail that represents LA's relaxed and social lifestyle.
At the core of SKYnoa’s concept is a shift from product-based retail to emotion-driven navigation. Instead of fixed categories, the store is composed of a series of movable “mood containers” that each represent a curated world of its own. Color becomes the primary organizing tool, with each zone defined by a distinct tonal identity. Inspired by freight, these modules can be reconfigured, swapped, or expanded, allowing the space to evolve alongside collections and cities.
Layering becomes a key spatial strategy. Curtains and mirrors are used to frame views and create depth, while LED screens subtly guide movement without imposing rigid boundaries. Timber textured roof introduces a warm, barn-like atmosphere while natural light enhances the openness and clarity of the interior. At the center of the store, SKYnoa placed a stage as a flexible platform for events, styling, and performance, surrounded by photo booths and artist collaboration zones that respond to Los Angeles’ dynamic social scene.
SKYnoa transformed CIDER’s online world into an immersive experience, ensuring every aspect of the brand is no longer confined to a screen but brought to life with clarity and intent.
