The stand was build and designed to represent Hungary as a special guest on Bookfair Warsaw 2016. The site, the national stadium of Poland made the situation unique and special. The fair was situated on the main public circulation level of the stadium. Footbal and books, small, furniture scale and stadium scale, completely surreal situation, both spatial and spiritual sense. The design aim was amplifieding and blending at the same time. The stand was devided by the main circulation into two parts, one long continuous bookshelf on the external site under the grandstand, the other one in the grand void of the stadium, stage and public area with different activities, shows, book launches, talks, lectures, children, etc. The stand was made of poplar plywood, the vertical spacers were natural iron plates situated in different angles to give stability for the shelf system. The whole structure is recyclable. The graphic on the stage elements are copies of a poster from the time of 1956, a crying pigeon, it was symbolizing the solidarity of the polish people towards the hungarian revolution. graphic: Franciszek Starowieyski
