The Beehive Guesthouse is a two-story residence nestled into a hillside on a 23-acre property in Big Sky, Montana. Comprising three prefabricated modules constructed in Method’s state-of-the-art factory in Ferndale, Washington, the home was transported and installed on the remote site with minimal disruption to the landscape.
The guesthouse features a reverse floor plan, with private bedrooms and storage for guests’ outdoor gear on the lower level and an open living area and kitchen above. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the interior with natural light while framing stunning views of the surrounding national forest and the creek below. The home provides a private retreat and outdoor lover’s paradise with direct and private access to the iconic Beehive Basin Trail perfect for winter backcountry skiing and summer wildflower hikes.
The home has multiple deck areas for guests to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the home. One lower-level site-built deck features a hot tub and fire pit and two upper-level decks that were integrated into the design of the modules extend from the main living and kitchen spaces. Designed for Montana’s long winters, the home is equipped with radiant floor heating, triple-pane windows, durable cedar siding, and a wood burning fireplace to ensure year-round comfort.
