Opus Newton established a new middle-market model for senior living, designed to expand availability for those who are “house rich and income challenged.” The 175-unit campus co-locates with a low-income residence to create an equity-driven neighborhood connected by a building featuring wellness, culinary, and cultural spaces. This shared area reinforces community while improving operational efficiency. The design strategy is rooted in flexibility and affordability, which is shown in compact, high-quality apartments and unbundled services.
Designed to meet Passive House standards, the all-electric campus progresses sustainability and long-term resilience. Residents participate in 10 hours of service each month, supporting a feeling of purpose and engagement. Opus brings their mission to life through groundbreaking design and offers an accessible model for providers serving today’s middle-income seniors.
