NADAAA is a design firm with expertise in architecture, landscape and urban design. With a defined culture of research, collaboration, and fabrication, the firm has challenged the building industry by taking on its means and methods, while also developing innovative ways of building at many scales-- from the scale of infrastructure to furniture. Led by Nader Tehrani, Katherine Faulkner, and Daniel Gallagher, the firm operates with twenty five collaborators, between offices in Boston and New York City. With numerous accolades to its name, NADAAA recently won the top ranking design firm of Architect Magazine 2013 annual review of the top fifty firms in the United States. Having recently completed the Georgia Tech Hinman Research Building, the firm is currently working on both the University of Melbourne Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning and the University of Toronto Daniels Faculty Architecture, Landscape and Design. With many other institutional projects, the firm has also recently completed the Samsung Model Home Gallery, a recent recipient of the Chicago Athenaeum award in architecture. Nader Tehrani is the Head of the Department of Architecture at MIT and has been widely published and exhibited. He has received numerous awards including the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award in Architecture, the American Academy of Arts and Letters Architecture award, the Harleston Parker award, and fourteen Progressive Architecture awards. His work has been exhibited at institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the CCA, the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art and LA MoCA. Katherine Faulkner, AIA, joined NADAAA after twenty years of detailed design and management experience in large scale planning, academic, institutional, and health-care projects. Beyond project work, she focuses on branding and design through architecture, real estate development, and expanding markets. Dan Gallagher, AIA, has been a long time partner and has overseen a range of projects of varied scale and complexity, among them: Banq restaurant, Macallen, Fleet Library at the Rhode Island School of Design, Helios House in Los Angeles. Leading the New York City studio, Dan continues to focus on institutional, non-profit and retail projects worldwide. NADAAA represents a new phase for Tehrani, Faulkner and Gallagher, and it serves as a platform for design investigation at a larger scale and with a greater geographic reach. NADAAA is currently working on a range of public, institutional, and private commissions, both nationally and internationally.
