Samsoori, in Habuk-myeon, Yangsan-si, has long been known as a historically significant location with favorable terrain, often regarded as a place where great individuals emerge. It is also a place where picturesque mountains such as Bonghwasan, Cheonmaksan, Gunjisang, Seonamsan, and Cheonseongsan are layered in a beautiful, scenic manner. An elderly couple settled in this area, building a home consisting of a single-story house where they live and a storage shed for farming tools. The house is located near the road, with a yard to the south. The walls of the long, seemingly simple house are made of brick, while the roof is constructed from wood and metal, showcasing the functionality of different parts of the building.

Upon entering the house, the exposed wooden structure of the parking area is visible. The parking area is distinguished by a wooden frame structure spanning over 5 meters and a wall built with elegant stone masonry. Passing through the parking area, the entrance leads into a space where windows at eye level frame the view of the eaves, yard, and surrounding mountains like a picture. The windows inside the house, which capture the same external landscape, vary in size and shape, each offering a different perspective of the view outside. As you step onto the floor, the high ceiling above, supported by exposed beams, feels refreshing. The structure, made from wooden posts and beams, allows for large openings and a sense of openness. The exposed columns, beams, and rafters also add to the aesthetic beauty of the structure and help define the spaces. For instance, the staircase column separates the living room from the study area.

The house is fully open to the south-facing yard and the scenic view beyond. On clear days, the elderly couple spends most of their time in the study, connected to the external veranda. The wooden beams of the eaves above the veranda effectively block out the sun, and on rainy days, the couple can relax and watch the falling rain in a cozy outdoor space. The southern yard, connected to the living room and the veranda, is a cozy space surrounded by stone walls and the building on both sides. The yard is made from natural materials such as stone, grass, and trees, not artificial ones. The couple enjoys walking barefoot and sitting in the shade on a stone bench, sipping coffee. Beyond the yard, a short descent leads to the storage shed and garden. The elderly couple tends to their small garden, spending their time there and placing the harvested crops on the dinner table. The storage shed, made of wood and finished with cement blocks, has a sloped roof. The shed and yard are harmoniously integrated, using the land's elevation change to avoid obstructing the view from the house.

Over time, both the building and the elderly couple will come to resemble each other more and more.
