This sustainable residence is elevated on the 120 acre property to take advantage of views and cooling breezes. The owners enjoy the passive solar design which utilises full height north facing glazing and glass louvres high-lights to create a temperate internal clime. The residence is power self sufficient through the use of a 5.5kw photovoltaic system and boasts 550 kilolitres of rainwater storage which is harvested from the roof. It is also serviced by solar hot water system and Chazelle wood fire box providing the booster capability. The fitout includes locally sourced recycled jarrah and sheoak hard wood species having high natural termite resistance. The residence is surrounded by citrus, nut and pomme fruit orchards which are reticulated by large dam that were all planned to permaculture principles as part of the design brief.
