Vista Energy, a leading energy company in the production of unconventional oil in Vaca Muerta, relocated its new offices to Punta del Este, Uruguay, in early 2026. This new space—fully developed by Contract Workplaces—is part of the company’s expansion strategy, aimed at strengthening its regional presence and optimizing the performance of its work environment, aligning it with current requirements and future growth projections.
The project for the new headquarters was developed on a 300 sqm floor located in WTC Punta del Este Free Zone, the first free trade zone office tower for services in the Maldonado department, Uruguay. This innovative development combines an international-standard business environment with a strategic location in the heart of Punta del Este, just steps away from the beach and the port.
The design is based on the premise of creating a space that reflects the company’s DNA, grounded in the concepts of origin, identity, efficiency, and momentum. The proposal envisions a dynamic and flexible office, where natural light, views, and materiality accompany constant movement and foster a contemporary, open, and connected work environment. The spaces are generous, minimally partitioned, and highlight the bay and the open views of Punta del Este.
The layout is structured around a central space, with an entrance that emphasizes brand presence and from which circulation toward the different areas is organized. This movement is reinforced by elements such as linear lighting fixtures and curved acoustic panels that enhance the directionality of the space.
The zoning is clear, distributing work areas, meeting rooms, and shared spaces through fluid circulation, avoiding rigid pathways and enabling a simple and organized reading of the floor plan. This organization seeks to optimize functionality without compromising spaciousness or spatial continuity.
The office includes two meeting rooms for ten people, an open-plan operational area, a collaborative zone, private spaces, a dining area, and a copy area. The location of the meeting rooms prioritizes the best views toward the port and the beach, enhancing the environmental quality of the meeting spaces.
The ceiling design plays a key role in the proposal, combining exposed slabs, suspended planes, and acoustic elements arranged in organic geometries. These configurations follow the circulation, integrate lighting and building systems, and define areas without the need for rigid partitions, contributing dynamism and identity to the space.
The client had numerous technological requirements for this project. As the staff works exclusively on-site, an electronic reservation system was incorporated in the meeting rooms. In this regard, the Cisco videoconferencing system, digital signage, and the integration of monitors across different work areas also stand out.
In terms of aesthetics, a neutral color palette was selected for furniture and finishes, with accents in wood tones and textures that bring warmth and reinforce the perception of spaciousness throughout the floor.
The result is an office balanced between order and fluidity, where the clarity of the layout is complemented by an expressive formal language, creating an efficient, contemporary environment aligned with the company’s values and culture.
