Private villa for a family of four in a residential area in Tromsø. The site slopes steeply from the access road and faces a panoramic view across the sea to the islands west of Tromsø. Neighbours on both sides and a focus on privacy combined with panoramic views formed the conceptual design. The house is accessed through an entrance and garage which forms a suspended bridge between the main body of the house and the access road. The house seeks to emphasise privacy and respect for the beautiful natural vegetation of the site through its floating design where it touches down only in a concentrated retracted basement. The building is clad in untreated cedar which will turn an even silver grey in time. The retracted terrace opens the view and for the light also from the south without allowing any views into the open space living room.
