Urban Haute Living, Forest Retreat in Shu | Guobin No.7 Residence proposes a vertical landscape framework for low-rise urban housing, transforming “scenery” into environmental infrastructure. Rather than limiting greenery to grade, the project deploys a stratified system of woodland, courtyards, and water across multiple elevations, establishing continuous ecological performance from ground plane to upper levels.
The design preserves the district’s traditional spatial character while advancing a contemporary residential model centered on biophilic proximity. Across 168 units, landscape exposure is treated as a measurable design variable: terrain profiling, planting-height calibration, and window-to-canopy alignment are coordinated to optimize framed views, daylight modulation, and seasonal legibility for every residence.
Terraces and courtyards operate as climatic and experiential extensions of interior space. The project choreographs year-round transformation—spring bloom, summer shade, autumn foliage, winter stillness—so that temporal change becomes an active component of daily domestic life. Large-format glazing amplifies visual permeability and brings filtered light, shadow, and vegetation deep into living spaces.
Guobin No.7 reframes contemporary urban retreat as high-performance quietness: understated architecture paired with layered landscape systems that deliver health, comfort, privacy, and long-term residential value through nature-integrated design.
