MixC Village is a coastal, open-air commercial landscape completed in December 2025 in China’s Greater Bay Area. Responding to post-pandemic shifts in everyday urban life, the project reconsiders commercial space as a public realm that supports emotional well-being, social interaction, and flexible use beyond consumption. Located between Guangzhou and Shenzhen rather than within dense urban cores, the site benefits from strong regional mobility and fewer spatial constraints. Through a village-based spatial framework and continuous pedestrian network, landscape operates as green urban infrastructure, creating a condition of “soft distance” in which visitors could re-calibrate the busy urban rhythm, slow down, and engage with everyday life.
