The project is located on the south boundary of the Sénart Campus in the municipality of Lieusaint, Seine-et-Marne.
Educational building
The building volume expresses its function in an instructive way:
• Composed of two parallel lines (two-storey north wing/three-storey south wing), it clearly illustrates the program - a student wing (15 classrooms on three floors) and a teacher wing (with administration on 1st floor).
• Between these two lines, a crevice provides continuity between the outdoor campus areas and the project center where the common program elements are integrated - the amphitheater, circulation, the patio and terrace.
A generous double height lobby opens below onto a patio and above onto a terrace that overlooks the campus. The amphitheater is located below the finished ground level to reduce the building height.
Landmark building
A coherent choice of materials together with a simple volume:
• White prefabricated concrete walls anchor the building in its environment and interact with the paved forecourt
• South elevation can be seen from a distance due to its horizontal stainless steel lines
• North elevation in Reglit stages the building activity since the movement of students functions as a backdrop, enhancing the north wing.
