This stadium was conceived to put Bridgeview on the map and catalyze growth for Chicago’s Southland region. It required an economical design to mitigate the costs of building in the Chicago market. Toyota Park is the first soccer-specific MLS stadium designed with a permanent end stage and canopy. As a revenue driver, this allows it to attract diverse events, such as rugby, football, concerts and family events. It also allows the operations staff to convert the pitch in a record 18 hours and to ‘right size’ the stadium from 20,000 to 30,000 seats. Premium products range from executive suites to popular ticketed lounges and midfield club seats. Each year, more than a half million people pass under the stadium’s trademark brick arch, which evokes an old Chicago firehouse and famous Chicago architect, Louis Sullivan.
