Qdillion is a hosting company for the second-hand trade community. The project is processed under the concept of “The Playground” with an aim to propose a new type of office space promoting an individual’s idea and personality instead of a conventional office space pursuing productivity and efficiency. In general, support spaces such as storage, copy rooms, and casual meeting rooms are regarded as supplementary space rather than production space. But with the thought that such spaces can yield unconstrained discussions and ideas, this is designed to use support spaces as its main space. Embracing all features of support spaces that used to be positioned separately.
The Playground works as the main space of the office. Rather than distinguishing office, resting, support, and meeting areas, space is arranged to prevent a specifically divided space from defining the nature of work within itself, therefore a resting space can become a meeting space, and storage can become a meeting space generating ideas. An office area is placed on the perimeter around the Playground, and office units that together form the office area are organized to open a corridor that encourages natural interactions among different departments.
