As part of the facility improvements to accommodate the high school credit system, Nuwon High School wanted to redesign the existing common spaces. The newly improved common spaces were designed to serve a purpose, providing students with a richer learning experience and more opportunities for communication.
Nuwon Maru, The first thing you see when you enter the main hall is a bench-style bulletin board. The notice board is more than just a way to communicate information, but in combination with the benches, it serves as a place for students to take a break. The idea is to create a communication channel where students can feel comfortable while receiving school news.
Creative Maru, In front of the Arts and Sports Education Department, students' works were stacked in a messy way. We organized the space by placing shelves, and the walls were finished with an M-board so that they could be displayed freely using magnets. The space was organized so that the creative works could shine in an organized environment.
Social Maru, As the introduction of the high school credit system increased students' travel time, we created Social Maru on the corridor wall of the computer lab. This space is a place where students can gather and communicate freely, and the ceiling, walls, and floor are unified in the same color to create a sense of distinction even within the same corridor.
Culture Maru, The corridor space in front of the Humanities and Social Education Department has been reborn as Culture Maru, a place where students can communicate with various cultures. Shelves were built to display existing cultural books and artwork created by students in multicultural classes, and the walls were M-board to make it easy to attach artwork with magnets.
Dream Maru, The new Dream Maru was created in front of each grade level teaching lab. The existing bulletin boards were replaced and the walls were M-board to make it easier for students to see career information, notices, and learning information.
Science Maru, In front of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Science Maru was built with rails to hang students' works and learning materials. This space will be utilized as a special place to display students' scientific achievements and creations.
