Fake Decoration
Most of sailing Luxury house in Korea has expensive material and fill luxury furniture and install fireplace and chandelier. But space layout is not different with usual apartment and filled mean less European style decoration. It was common townhouse where real estate agency strategy based on most people who just looking for Italy marble tile finish and European style decoration. However, the house floored Italy tile with cheapy spray coating finish, fireplace impaired that have, the decor filling the whole house was overkill. The decor filling the whole house was overkill.
The Modern Square, a new home for the family who had lived in an apartment, displays a space where the story of the family unfurls under a simple structure, instead of excessive decorations and colorful finishes.
The basement is occupied by non-traditional spaces such as karaoke, home bar, AV room, and music studio, while the first and second floors by real-life spaces such as bedrooms, living room and a kitchen. The ceiling of the living room opens up to the second floor and conveys a refreshing feel. The inclined ceiling delivers an exotic look, and while the irregular window in the corridor on the second-floor spices up rather monotonous layout.
A part of the staircase was designed as a bench along the wall, naturally connecting the living room and the kitchen for the family members to chat or rest. Further back, the walls between the kitchen and the dining area were demolished for a sense of openness. The master bedroom, which is fully open towards the yard, brings inside the surrounding scenery and creates a cozy atmosphere.
The moving wall divides the children’s room on the second floor under the concept of “opening and closing” to ensure the privacy. The neat bathroom and the dressing room are accentuated by yellow and green color. The karaoke room and the music studio emphasize the individuality of the users with a warm and sensuous design.
