The Diana Center, a 98,000 square foot mixed use arts building, will be the center for social, cultural and intellectual life at Barnard College. The program features the dynamic layering of functions, including a black box theater, a 500-seat performance/multiuse space, a cafe, a dining room, a library, classrooms, and exhibition galleries. Social and cultural activities are linked vertically by a series of ascending stairs and internal views through slipped atria, revealing the diverse activities of the center. Luminous terra-cotta glass panels provide views of the city and campus and define a façade of depth and light.
