The goal was to create a contemporary design that boasted an air of sophistication to ensure the hotel became a leader among the other hotels and casinos in the vicinity. A heavily themed concept was avoided to appeal to a larger demographic of clientele. Due to the wide range of existing casino clientele, it was important that the design catered to a broad spectrum of international taste, including a high volume of Asian gaming enthusiasts.
A memorable experience is created as soon as the guest enters the playful, yet sophisticated and luxurious lobby. The environment with its proximity to the casino was designed to raise anticipation and upbeat energy. Much like a Las Vegas hotel, this upscale boutique design's primary focus was to entertain guests throughout the public spaces. There is a vivacious feeling in the Restaurant, Bar, and VIP Gaming area. The vibrant Multipurpose Rooms flow out to large patio lounges and the Event Space opens up to the lively atmosphere of the elevated swimming pool area. The design was successful in achieving a cohesive concept throughout the hotel which is exciting and invigorating in the public areas, while providing a restful respite in the guestrooms.
Catering to foreign tastes and preferences, the VIP Gaming Area features a combination of Asian influences. A traditional palette of rich red and gold accents is paired with luxurious artwork pieces with a modern take on traditional Chinese motifs. In coordination with the architect, elements of Feng Shui were developed and incorporated into the overall hotel design.
The luxuriously appointed newly constructed hotel spans over 117,902 square feet in size with 99 Guestrooms and Suites. Throughout the hotel, materials, furniture and fixtures have been carefully selected from suppliers located in the North-West, to suit the identity of the hotel. Public areas feature vibrant pops of colour, emphasized against neutral and textural backdrops for relief. For example, positioned in front of the dark wood sculptural wave wall is a back-lit blue agate reception desk in the lobby. The custom serpentine shaped sofa sits centrally in the lobby's reception, showcased under a bespoke crystal chandelier and further complimented with custom accent furniture and artwork. Guiding guests from the lobby through to the restaurant, bar, cafe, VIP gaming area and existing Casino, is a custom intricate tile floor pattern. The tile design plays with an oversized scale of overlapping circles, composed of inlays of granite, marble, and metal mosaics to create a one of a kind design inspired by a wheel and its spokes. The restaurant and bar consists of warm woods, with punchy orange accent furniture set against an earthy palette. The cafe is contemporary with clean lines and custom graphic mirrors. The VIP gaming room's palette is rich with golds and bright reds. The design is fused with Asian inspired motifs that decorate the space. Furniture and casegoods are custom designed to suit the space and sit proud upon lavish custom carpet.
The guestroom design is contemporary with an air of sophistication to maintain cohesion with the public areas. Contrasting to the public areas, the energetic design was pared down to ensure a restful environment for guests. All guestrooms and suites include custom casegoods and furniture to suit the identity of the hotel. Finishes include deeply saturated fabrics, rich woods, upholstered wall panels, bespoke lighting, chrome, mirror and crystal accents to ensure the space evokes a sense of luxury.
