The Glen Lake Community Schools Summer Projects were comprised of three components: a new bus garage; new team rooms for home team and visitor teams for soccer and softball; and a new tennis complex, with a gateway building for ticket office, toilet rooms, and storage.
The team rooms provide needed space for home team and visitor teams to gather, suit-up, and prepare for competition. They include locker facilities, toilet rooms, officials’ locker rooms, training room, public toilets, and a covered area for guests and visitors to gather in inclement or sunny weather. Clerestory natural light, use of natural materials such as glu-lam beams and wood benches, and the use of insulated roof panels highlight the uniqueness of the Glen Lake community and its commitment to its natural environment and energy efficiency.
The new eight-court competition tennis complex is designed with tournaments and spectators in mind, with easy circulation around the courts, a variety of convenient locations for spectators to watch the matches, and a shade pavilion in the center of the complex. The new gateway building consists of a ticket booth, office area, public toilets, and equipment storage, and it replaces a portable structure used previously. The construction system for the gateway building matches that of the Team room buildings, providing visual continuity across the athletic fields at Glen Lake
