The Tarrytown Residence unfolds around the articulated, private landscape at its center. Framed between a walled garden at the street and a serene courtyard at the rear, the interiors open fully to the outdoors beneath a continuous ceiling plane, delicately held in place by expansive, custom site-glazed window walls.
Two abstract volumes—clad in elongated black brick and black-stained cedar—anchor the composition, shielding the home from view and offering a quiet defense against future neighboring development. Within, the dark masonry contrasts with finely crafted millwork, raw steel, and a vivid palette of fabric, wallpaper, and tile—each material adding richness and texture to the domestic experience.
