The design of this proposed new family home is in direct response to the particular site conditions.
A large central courtyard was created as a “buffer” between the adjoining properties and future development. The courtyard allows for ample natural light, cross-flow ventilation and views out through the narrow block. A proposed green roof will provide a pleasant outlook from first floor areas and enhance energy efficiency levels. Subtle pitched roof forms help express the rectilinear volumes and incorporate the contemporary addition within its traditional suburban environment. The three distinct volumes are emphasized through a simple materials palette of masonry, timber and render finishes.
Council approval has been granted and working drawings have been completed for building permit approval.
